The Portugal-born MOGA Caparica Festival has confirmed its 2026 return, a move that will once again turn Costa da Caparica into a long-weekend hub for electronic music, wellness and local commerce.

Why This Matters

Tickets start at €50 and are now on sale; expect the cheapest tiers to vanish in days.

Free “OFF” events on 27-28 May mean Caparica residents can join yoga, surf and sunset parties without paying a cent.

Crowds of 25,000+ are forecast, injecting tourism money but also adding traffic around Almada’s coastal road.

After-parties run past 02:00, so neighbours near Praia da Morena should plan for late-night noise.

The Basics: Dates, Times & Prices

Praia da Morena will host the paid “IN” concerts from Friday 29 to Sunday 31 May 2026. Gates open 15:00-02:00 on Friday and 14:00-02:00 on Saturday and Sunday.

Ticket menu

3-Day Pass from €140 (or €215 with after-party access)

2-Day Pass (Fri+Sat) from €110; (Sat+Sun) from €95

Day tickets: €50 for Friday or Sunday, €60 for Saturday

VIP upgrades and resale handled through the Shotgun app. Children up to 10 enter free, but minors need an adult guardian.

Who’s on Stage: Early Line-up Highlights

Friday brings Ricardo Villalobos, Ben Böhmer and TSHA under Caparica’s sunset. Saturday sees Mount Kimbie (DJ set), Oscar MBO and Nitefreak. Sunday closes with Röyksopp (DJ set), Mind Against and DJ Tennis. Local talent is prominent: Temudo, Vil & Cravo, Diana Oliveira and Fresko are all booked, many doubling as after-party hosts.

Beyond the Dancefloor: The “OFF” Programme

The free “OFF” calendar (27-28 May) scatters across beach bars, surf schools and urban parks, spotlighting Caparica’s own creative scene.

Ocean-front yoga sessions with Ocean Yoga Studio at dawn.

Surf lessons for kids and adults, plus a MOGA Kids surf-skate lab.

"Do Mar à Mesa" seafood dinners curated by Chef Duarte Mayer, pairing local fishermen’s stories with fresh catch.

DJ workshops led by the all-female collective Soundsister, and talks on Web3 music with partners NFC & Sandbox.

Sunset boat parties and pop-up cinema complete the lineup, all free but space-limited.

Ripple Effect on Almada’s Economy

Almada City Council estimates the festival boosted overnight stays by 53% between 2023 and 2024. Organisers expect €3-4M in direct spend on lodging, dining and transport this year. The boutique size—about 25,000 attendees—keeps queues short while still filling local guesthouses. Co-founder Matthieu Corosine argues the event has "re-branded Caparica from local surf spot to international culture stop-over."

What This Means for Residents

Traffic & Parking: The seafront N377-1 will be busy from mid-afternoon. Almada Council will extend the TST 161 bus schedule and set up a temporary park-and-ride at Pragal.

Jobs & Income: Bars, hotels and surf schools typically hire seasonal staff two months ahead; CVs should be ready by early April.

Noise Management: Music ends at 02:00, but after-parties in indoor clubs continue. Local by-laws allow it under a temporary cultural waiver.

Free Access: Caparica residents can still join OFF workshops, requiring only advance online registration.

Getting There & Home Safely

Lisbon-based fans can take the Cacilhas ferry + 135 bus (≈40 min) or drive over the 25 de Abril Bridge (≈20 min off-peak). Ride-shares have a dedicated drop-off on Rua do Barco. Festival wristbands include a €5 discount on Bolt scooters for the return journey—handy after the last night bus at 02:30.

Looking Ahead

A second wave of artists is due in late March and will likely raise ticket tiers. Given the festival’s boutique cap, organisers hint this edition could sell out by Easter. If you plan to dance on Caparica’s sands—or simply enjoy the free yoga at dawn—blocking out the last week of May now might save both stress and euros.
